Sometimes when driving through Norway you just have to stop the car, get out, walk around and take in the scenery.

You see that very tall pole on the right? That is so the snow plow driver can find the road in the winter.

There are two overlooks, this is the first one...also by Reiulf Ramstad Architects.

These houses across from the Visitor Centre must have been extremely lonely and remote before it was built.

Crossing the stream to go to the overlooks.

The stream at Trollstigen flowing over the edge; you can see the road headed down on the left side. You can just make out the second viewing platform on the right.

On the path to the second viewing platform you have a great view of the first platform and the water flowing over the edge.

More roadside scenery as we head south.

There was a little cluster of traditional houses by the road near the confluence of two streams. We stopped to check it out.

Now we're back on highway 63 headed south towards our overnight stop of Geiranger on the Geirangerfjord. This beautiful lake is in a high valley at about 1400 feet above sea level.

Ørnevegen
This is the overlook at Ørnevegen or , Eagle Road. This steep switchback is the only way in and out of Geiranger by land in the winter. It must be a lot of work to keep it passable.
